A weekend in Hood River with friends, celebrating the International Women's day

Bringing a close group of friends to this beautiful old house in Hood River is truly one of the best ways to spend a weekend away from Portland. Only an hour outside of the city, the air here is crisper, the stars are brighter, and the dear faces of the people I know and love are more relaxed and care free. We cook meals together, toast to various people present or not, take hikes in the mountains, and enjoy life to the fullest.

This particularly trip coincided with the International Women's day, so the gents prepared a special surprise for the women in the party – a delightful tea service, with a mountain of finger sandwiches, cookies, chocolates, and tea poured into fine china for the occasion, all set to the music of Vivaldi and served to us by men dressed in top hats and tuxedo jackets. It was truly spectacular!
